You don’t need to break the bank to upgrade your kitchen with these top tips.
If your kitchen is looking past its sell by date but you are not ready for a complete overhaul, consider these different options to make an immediate impact without costing a fortune.
1. Change the tap.
Splash out on a new tap for more modern one or even better still one with a hose attachment will immediately smarten your kitchen up. It is also a fairly straightforward procedure without having to change the sink which can be a costly exercise.
2. Paint.
It may sounds simple but a new coat of paint make a real difference. Not only does it cover cooking stains, but choose a modern colour such as an off white grey rather than a cream or magnolia to really set a contemporary tone.
3. New tiles.
Change the tiles on the floor or the splash back. Or both. A brick style on the wall has become increasingly popular of late and team it with a dark grout for the ultimate latest trend. Plus is also hides any discolouring caused by cooking.
4. Upgrade the hob.
Changing the hob for a slick new one or even a ceramic one will immediately change the feel of a kitchen. It will become a pleasure to cook on rather than grabbing a takeaway!
5. New cupboard units.
If your cupboard unit doors are a bit dated it may be worth changing them for a fresher new model. White and grey styles are very popular as well as being versatile. Changing just the doors is simple and there is no need to replace the whole carcass.
6. Lighting.
Light fittings can date and a poorly lit room won’t do the space any justice. Recessed spotlights work well and even consider getting a feature light that sits over the dining table to create a really inviting space.
